THEY CAN OCCUR FROM ORGANIC WASTE

Imagen
In addition to being produced from renewable sources, many of the bioplastics resignify what we consider organic waste into new materials.   This is of vital importance, since it generates less exploitation of resources. Waste can be from agriculture, such as bagasse, must, or also from the gastronomic industry, such as orange peel, coffee, and egg shells.

CAN BE MADE AT HOME

Many of the raw materials used to generate biomaterials come from the gastronomic industry, being very accessible in cities.

BIOMATERIALS REPLACE PLASTIC IN VARIOUS APPLICATIONS

Imagen
One of the main replacements for plastic is in packaging, due to the problem of excessive accumulation of waste from single-use plastics.   Biomaterials have diverse characteristics of resistance, durability, texture and properties, for which they can replace plastic in many applications.

BIOMATERIALS COME OF RENEWABLE SOURCES

One of the main characteristics of bioplastics is that they come from renewable resources while conventional plastic is produced from petroleum, which is a non-renewable resource.   Those that can be restored at a rate greater than their extraction, processing and use are considered renewable.

EXAMPLES OF BIOMATERIALS (PROSTHESIS)
